Virginia Home Care Services INC is looking for a Home Care CNA to join our team! You will be directly working with patients, following a one-on-one care plan in patient homes. We are looking for a CNA with a big heart, not only providing personalized and attentive care, but willing to build genuine relationships with those you serve.  The CNA should be detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to creating a healthy environment that meets patient needs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to succeed in this role. Prior Home Health or Hospice experience is a plus.

This is a skilled Home Health position. The CNA would be required to travel from patient to patient within the continuum service area to primarily provide assistance with clients everyday living.

Responsibilities include:

Follow the plan of care established by the supervising clinician
Bathing and Dressing
Light Housekeeping
Hair Care
Assistance with Ambulation/Transfers
Position Changing in Bed
Oral Hygiene
Changing Bed Linens for Incontinent Patients
Shaving
Skin Care

  • Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery in the patient's home. Performs basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedure to promote patient health and wellness.
  • Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • Performs administrative support functions.
  • Maintains necessary skills and competencies.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires frequent bending/stooping and extensive driving within Northern Virginia. Proficient communication, auditory and visual skills. Attention to detail, the ability to write legibly, and lift/push/pull 20 - 100lb. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience: 2 years if previous skilled Home Health experience is preferred.

Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing. Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
