Job Summary

As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) with Virginia Home Care Service, Inc., you will work closely with our licensed Occupational Therapists (OTs) to provide exceptional care to clients in their homes. Your role is critical in implementing treatment plans designed to help patients improve their daily living and working skills, ensuring they achieve their goals for independence and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering therapeutic interventions based on individualized treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, adaptations, and strategies to promote independence.
  • Monitor patient progress, document sessions, and report observations to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Adapt therapy techniques and approaches as needed to meet patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Qualifications

  • Certification: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential in the state of Virginia.
  • Education: Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by ACOTE.
  • License: Active state licensure as a COTA in Virginia.
  • Experience: Previous experience in home health care or similar setting is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
