We need VENICE-NORTH PORT area CAREGIVERS for 8-10-12hr shifts

Part Time • Sarasota
Some Days, It’s the Little Things That Matter Most.

it’s about helping someone feel human and whole, even when life has changed in ways they never imagined. It's about making the elderly feel comfortable, safe, pleased to have a companion for a few hours. It's about being kind, about listening, about being present for another person.

At Close To Home Caregivers, we look for caregivers with compassion, patience, and a steady heart. We’re growing right now and expanding our services to the VENICE-NORTH PORT area—taking on new clients in the region ... and thus adding to our team to prepare for those new clients. And we’re looking for people who understand that the smallest gestures can mean everything.

The People You'll Be Helping
Our clients each have their own story. Some are mostly independent, just needing someone to prepare a simple meal, keep them company, help with laundry and getting dressed. Maybe a walk around the block.

Some are living with memory loss or conditions like Parkinson’s and can require more hands-on care—bathing, dressing, mobility support, and help them staying safe.

We’ll always talk with you about what kinds of clients and tasks you’re most comfortable with. Then we'll try to assign you to clients who are a good fit -- both for you and the client.

A Day in the Life of a Caregiver
Your day might include:
  • Helping someone into their wheelchair and taking them outside
  • Assisting with bathing, toileting, or dressing (depending on your comfort level)
  • Cooking a light lunch and reminding a client to take their medication
  • Sitting with a client and listening to them tell a favorite story (for the third time—but it still makes them smile)
  • Tidying up their space and making sure they feel safe and cared for
  • Noticing when something changes—and letting our care team know so we can respond
Shifts Available
We are looking for help with 8-10-12-hour shifts--some on weekdays, some on weekends. You tell us what works for your schedule, and we’ll do our best to honor it.

What You’ll Need to Join Us
  • A kind, dependable nature and a patient heart
  • The ability to communicate clearly and kindly with clients and their families
  • A willingness to support clients with a wide range of needs (based on your preferences)
  • Some caregiving experience is a plus—but not required. We’ll provide training.
  • A valid Florida driver’s license and a reliable vehicle (with insurance and registration)
  • Level II background check (we’ll help you through the process if you don’t have it yet)
  • No felony convictions
Pay & Why We’re Different
We start caregivers at $18/hour. (Adjustments possible in some cases.)

But more than the pay, what sets us apart is that we’re a caregiving company run by caregivers. This agency was built by people who’ve done the work and know the challenges and deep rewards of taking care of people. That’s why we put just as much effort into supporting you as we do our clients.

Because we believe: if caregivers feel heard, valued, and respected, they’ll show up with full hearts. And that’s where real care begins.

If this sounds like the kind of work that calls to you, we’d love to talk.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
