Close To Home Caregivers is an agency run by caregivers. We listen to you and try to find clients that match your preferences, believing that happy caregivers mean happy clients.
Who Are Our Clients?
- They are elderly people in the Venice-North Port area. Some live at home, some in facilities.
- Some need help with mobility, personal care, and day-to-day routines.
- Others are relatively independent but simply need a kind presence — someone to help with small tasks and share conversation.
- Some face challenges like dementia or Parkinson’s and need both understanding and physical assistance.
Shifts:
· If you’re looking for shorter shifts, we have 4-6hrs ... our longer shifts range from 8-12hrs.
· We have Weekday, Weekend and Overnight shifts ... the mix can vary from week to week. We make every effort to find a continuing shift that fits your life.
What You’ll Do:
- In all cases, provide safety, comfort, and companionship.
- In some cases, assist with personal care: helping them transfer from bed to walker/wheel chair, bathing, dressing, toileting (if that matches your preferences).
- Sometimes provide the light housekeeping, and meal prep they are unable to do themselves.
- And always, monitoring clients and reporting any physical or cognitive changes you observe to our care team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Caregivers in the broad Venice-North Port-Port Charlotte area -- who are patient, compassionate, and reliable,with a strong work ethic.
- A valid Florida driver’s license and a reliable vehicle (with current insurance and registration).
- A Level II background check (we’ll help if you don’t have this yet).
- No felony convictions.
Pay:
Starting at $18.00-20.00/hour, with some flexibility in certain circumstances.

We are a company run by caregivers not business managers. Our mission is to provide superior care and safety for our clients ... but also to retain our caregivers by keeping their needs and preferences uppermost in our scheduling. We try to find shifts that match their preferences, and clients that fit their skills and comfort level. In hiring, we look for caregivers who are compassionate, well-trained, reliable and vigilant. If you are new to caregiving but are empathetic and responsible, and you enjoy helping others, we will train you.

No matter the name, what we all have in common is a calling to care for people in the comfort of their own homes or assisted-living facilities.
