Key Responsibilities of an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA):
- Assist in conducting client assessments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based techniques
- Support clients in achieving their functional goals through therapeutic activities
- Collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists, clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Provide education and guidance to clients and caregivers
- Document services accurately and in a timely manner, following regulatory and company standards
- Uphold professional and ethical practice requirements
Requirements for an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA):
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Massachusetts Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to client-centered, evidence-based care
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (if applicable)
