The nurses may be assigned to school health suite management, medication administration or supervision of school health aides for the School Health Program for 2024-2025 school year.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current License with Maryland Board of Nursing
- Current Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
- Negative CIJIS for Maryland and Federal criminal background check
- 14 hour Registered Nurse Case Manager/Delegating Nurse Trainer Course
General Responsibilities and Duties:
- Delegate day to day nursing activities, including medication administration to the school health aides, as required by Maryland Nurse Practice Act.
- Assist the principal or faculty member designated by the Principal in establishing an emergency health services in the school setting, such as first aid, and CPR as needed.
- Perform skilled nursing services for children with special needs, e.g. blood glucose monitoring, including carbohydrate counting, insulin administration, cauterization, tube feeding, nebulizer treatments, tracheotomy care, and special services as ordered by a medical care provider.
- Prepare clear, complete, concise and accurate documentation on appropriate forms according to the policies and procedures of school health
- Serve as a resource person and consultant to for the school staff and students.
- Assist student and families to achieve optimal levels of wellness through health education.
- Advocate for the right of the students.
- Provides basic health assessment of children by utilizing the nursing process and the application of relevant theories of practice.
- Evaluate cumulative health data.
- Provides necessary information to the teachers and support personnel regarding health care plans for individual students as deemed appropriate.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to evaluate alternatives for referral, placement, and management.
- Coordinate on-site provision of health care with other providers and participate in follow-up.
Compensation: $41.00 - $45.00 per hour
